[ENG] Tai Woffinden x Żurnalista

Tai Woffinden without the usual sporting clichés—and without pretending that speedway is only about medals, fans and big money.
A conversation about the crash in which he lost three litres of blood and, as he says himself, would probably not have survived if he had been taken to hospital by ambulance rather than helicopter. About the coma, the nightmares, the medication, the aggression after waking up and his return to the track—a decision that many people saw as sheer madness.
We also talk about alcohol, partying, constantly riding on the limit, Częstochowa, Wrocław and Rzeszów, abuse from fans, money in speedway and what it really costs to compete at the highest level. Woffinden speaks about his father, who sacrificed everything for his career, about living in a caravan in England, his first contracts, major titles and the moment when sport begins to take more from you than it gives back.
Shortly after we recorded this conversation, Tai Woffinden announced his retirement. That is why this interview feels different. It is like the final, extended account of a man who was still trying to make a comeback—but whose body had already given him its answer.
